APPLICATION
Q: When is the application for international/foreign student admission?
A: Each year the application calendar is determined by the University Senate.
Q: Is there a fee to apply for international/foreign student admission?
A: No. The application is free of charge. However, in order to be pre-admitted, it is necessary to pay 1/4 of the tuition fee for the relevant program.
Q: What are the application requirements for international/foreign student admission?
A: You can find the application requirements for international/foreign student admission at https://international.tinaztepe.edu.tr/tr/basvuru/basvuru-kosullari.
Q: I attended high school in Turkey and I have dual citizenship, one of which is Turkish citizenship. Do I meet the application requirements for international/foreign student admission?
A: According to Article 7 of the Turkish Citizenship Law No. 5901;
A child born in or outside Turkey to a Turkish citizen mother or father within or outside of Turkey within the marriage union is a Turkish citizen.
A child born out of wedlock to a Turkish citizen mother and a foreign father is a Turkish citizen.
A child born out of wedlock to a Turkish citizen father and a foreign mother is a Turkish citizen.
In case of fulfillment of the procedures and principles that provide Turkish citizenship.
Since there are provisions in the Law on Foreign Citizenship, you are considered a Turkish citizen even if you were born in a foreign country and have dual citizenship. In this case, you do not have the right to apply.
However, if you renounce Turkish citizenship and have a Certificate of Renunciation of Turkish Citizenship or a Blue Card, you will meet the application requirement (provided that you have this document before the deadline) (provided that you have enrolled in high school before the 2022-2023 academic year).
If your Turkish citizenship is not acquired at birth but acquired later, you will meet the application requirement even if you have studied high school in Turkey by documenting this situation with a copy of the birth certificate (provided that you have enrolled in high school before the 2022-2023 academic year).
Q: I am a citizen of the Turkish Republic. I completed 3 years of high school education in a foreign country and 1 year in Turkey. Do I meet the application requirements for admission of students from abroad/foreign nationals?
A: According to the “Principles Regarding the Admission of Students from Abroad” of the Council of Higher Education, in order to meet the application requirement for the admission of students from abroad/foreign nationals; if you started your high school education before February 1, 2013, you must have completed the last three years of high school, and if you started your high school education after February 1, 2013, you must have completed your entire high school education in a foreign country except K.K.T.C.
Q: I am a Turkish citizen. I completed my entire high school education abroad in a high school affiliated to the Ministry of National Education. Do I meet the application requirements for admission of students from abroad/foreign nationals? A: Yes. However, documents proving that you have completed your high school education abroad (transcript, report card, Entry/Exit Certificate from the Department of Combating Immigrant Smuggling and Border Gates, etc.) will be requested from you during the application.
Q: I am a Turkish citizen. I completed my high school education in a foreign high school in Turkey. Do I meet the application requirements for admission of students from abroad/foreign nationals? A: No. You are not eligible to apply.
Q: I attended high school in Turkey and I have dual citizenship, including Turkish citizenship by birth. I have applied to renounce Turkish citizenship, but the process is not over yet. If I still apply as a Turkish citizen during the application process and gain the right to register, can I register with a Certificate of Renunciation of Turkish Citizenship or a Blue Card?
A: As of the application deadline, you must have completed the process of renouncing Turkish citizenship and have a Turkish Citizenship Renunciation Certificate or Blue Card. Since this document will be requested from you in the application, it will not be considered sufficient if you have applied and started the process to renounce Turkish citizenship. You do not have the right to apply. In this respect, it is not possible to obtain the Certificate of Renunciation of Turkish Citizenship or Blue Card at the registration stage.
S: I am a T.R.N.C citizen and I do not have GCE A Level results. Can I apply for international/foreign student admission with SAT, ACT, YÖS etc. exam results?
A: In order to apply for international/foreign student admission, those who have K.K.T.C. nationality or dual nationals, one of whose nationality is K.K.T.C., must first have a GCE A Level result. In this case, you are not eligible to apply.
Q: My GCE A Level results will be announced after the application deadline. Can I apply for international/foreign student admission with the document marked “Expected Result”?
A: No. It is mandatory to have a document with the actual results in order for the applications to be evaluated.
Q: How do you apply for international/foreign student admission to your university?
A: Our university accepts applications for international/foreign student admission online at https://yosbasvuru.tinaztepe.edu.tr/. Detailed information is provided in the announcements made on https://international.tinaztepe.edu.tr/tr before each application period.
Q: Does your university offer YÖS?
A: No. However, YÖS documents of other universities and TR-YÖS conducted by ÖSYM are accepted.
Q: Is it possible to apply for admission to your university from abroad/foreign nationals only with the YÖS result?
A: No. Many documents are accepted along with the YÖS result in applications for admission of students from abroad/foreign nationals to our university. The list of exams/diplomas accepted by the decision of the University Senate is announced on https://international.tinaztepe.edu.tr/tr/basvuru/basvuru-kosullari under the heading “Application” before the applications start every year.
Q: What are the documents required for the application?
A: Documents Required for Application:
Examination Result Certificate / Original Diploma: The exam result document/diploma, which is included in the list of exams/diplomas accepted by the University Senate and declared in the application form, is requested.
Exam Result Certificate/Diploma Translation: The original Turkish or English translation of the declared exam result certificate/diploma certified by official authorities (Turkish Consulate, notary public, sworn translator) is requested.
Applicants who apply with YÖS Result Certificate or applicants who apply with an English exam result certificate such as SAT, ACT, etc. must bring the ORIGINAL DOCUMENT).
Only Turkish translation of the exam result document/diploma is accepted in case of gaining the right to enroll. (except SAT and ACT))
Transcript: A certified transcript from the secondary education institution and the original Turkish or English translation certified by the official authorities (Turkish Consulate, notary public, sworn translator) is requested.
Passport/ID: The page of the passport or Temporary Protection Identity Document containing photo identification information is requested.
Photograph: Photograph of the candidate in the digital environment (This photograph must be a clear, open-faced, frontal, official and passport size photograph (4.5 x 6 cm) taken within the last 6 (six) months to ensure that the candidate can be easily recognized).
Applicants who apply with YÖS Result Certificate or applicants who apply with an English exam result certificate such as SAT, ACT, etc. must bring the ORIGINAL DOCUMENT).

Q: Can I apply with the YÖS result of another university?
A: Yes. All higher education institutions in Turkey accept the results of the “Foreign / Foreign Student Admission Exam (YÖS)”. However, the YÖS must be face-to-face and the YÖS result document must have a verification address and verification code.
Q: I want to apply to your university with my SAT result. What is the validity period of the SAT result?
A: The validity period for all documents with the status of “University Entrance Exam” (SAT, ACT, YÖS, TQDK, etc.) in the list of exams / diplomas accepted by the decision of the University Senate, which are used in applications for admission to our university from abroad / foreign students, is 2 (two) years from the date of that exam. (For example; The last date that an exam taken on 01/01/2021 is valid is 01/01/2023)
Q: I am a senior high school student. Can I apply if I have not yet graduated from high school on the application dates?
A: You are only eligible to apply if you have one of the documents in the list of exams/diplomas accepted by the University Senate, which has the status of “University Entrance Exam” (SAT, ACT, YÖS, etc.). It is absolutely not possible to apply with a document with the status of “High School Graduation Exam” or “High School Diploma”. If it is detected that you are applying with a document of this status, your application will be rejected. In addition, if you are entitled to enroll as a result of your application with one of the documents with the status of “University Entrance Exam” and you have not yet graduated on the date of enrollment, it is not possible to enroll.
Q: I have a “Certificate of Renunciation of Turkish Citizenship” and completed my high school education in Turkey. Is it possible for me to apply for admission to your university as a foreign/foreign student with my Turkish high school diploma?
A: Yes. Those who were Turkish citizens by birth but lost their Turkish citizenship by obtaining permission to renounce Turkish citizenship from the Ministry of Interior and those who document that they have a blue card issued to those who have lost Turkish citizenship upon request can apply.
Q: I am a Turkish citizen and I graduated from a Turkish high school affiliated to the Ministry of National Education abroad. Is it possible for me to apply for admission to your university as a foreign/foreign student with this diploma?
A: Yes. Diplomas of those who have completed their entire secondary [high school] education in a Turkish high school opened by the Ministry of National Education in a foreign country other than the TRNC are accepted.
Q: I have a “Certificate of Renunciation of Turkish Citizenship” and I have a Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) result. Is it possible for me to apply for admission to your university as an international/foreign student with my YKS result?
A: No. Our university does not accept students with YKS results within the scope of foreign/foreign student admission. You can apply to our university with a document with the status of “High School Diploma”.
Q: What is the language of education at your university?
A: The language of education is Turkish.
S: Do I need a Turkish Proficiency Certificate to start my education?
A: Yes. Candidates who are entitled to enroll must have a Turkish Proficiency Certificate at the C1 level in programs whose medium of instruction is Turkish in order to start their education.
PLACEMENT
Q: How are the applications evaluated?
A: Applications are evaluated by the commission established within our university. Applications of candidates who do not meet the application conditions will not be evaluated. The applications of the candidates are evaluated by the commission and finalized as “acceptance” and “rejection”.
Q: How is the placement process done? Are exam and diploma applications accepted equally?
A: As a result of the evaluation of the applications, the exam or diploma grade of the candidates whose applications are accepted are converted into a hundredth grade with a standard formula with a common calculation. A placement score is created for each candidate and the candidates are subjected to the computerized placement process based on their preferences and placement scores.
Q: Is the order of preference important in the placement process?
A: The placement of the candidate is based primarily on the order of preference and then the placement score.
Q: Are there any quota limitations for candidates with Turkish citizenship or “Certificate of Renunciation of Turkish Citizenship”?
A: Yes. According to the decision of the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education, in the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry programs, candidates who have Turkish citizenship by birth or who have a “Certificate of Renunciation of Turkish Citizenship” cannot exceed 10% of the quota allocated for the programs in question. Students who document that they have subsequently acquired Turkish citizenship are not subject to this quota limit. (For example, if 10 quotas are allocated for the Faculty of Medicine, a maximum of 1 quota can be allocated for candidates with Turkish citizenship or “Certificate of Renunciation of Turkish Citizenship”).
S: Are there any quotas based on nationality?
A: No. Quotas are on program basis.
Q: Is there a quota limit by country for placement?
A: No

Q: I have been placed in your university. When can I receive the acceptance letter?
A: Candidates who have made their preliminary application to our University and paid ¼ of the tuition fee are sent a “Final Acceptance Letter” by our University.
REGISTRATION
S: When and how are the final registrations made?
A: The registrations of the candidates who are placed in our university are made on the dates announced on tinaztepe.edu.tr. Candidates are required to come to the university in person or through their legal representatives with the originals of the documents required for registration announced on tinaztepe.edu.tr.
S: I can't come for the final registration, can I register if I send the documents by mail?
A: No. Candidates who have the right to register must go to the registration addresses specified in the announcement within the registration dates in person or through a notarized power of attorney with the original documents. Registration cannot be done with the documents sent to our university by mail.
S: I will not be able to come for final registration, can someone else do my final registration for me?
A: Yes. Your legal representative appointed with notary approval can do the registration process.
Q: I have a certified copy of my high school diploma labeled as original. Is it accepted for registration in this form?
A: No. The originals of the documents listed in the list of documents required for registration are required.
S: Is it okay if I submit any document required for registration after registration?
A: All candidates who are eligible for enrollment must submit the original high school diploma and the original Turkish translation of the high school diploma at registration. (If SAT, ACT, YÖS, etc., the original of this document must also be submitted) The enrolled candidates are only given 2 (two) months for the equivalency certificate of their high school diploma.
Q: Do I have to have all my documents apostilled?
A: Yes. Provincial and district Directorates of National Education request a certificate of equivalence.
Q: What is a certificate of recognition? How can I obtain it?
A: An equivalence certificate is a certificate of recognition of the diplomas of those who graduated from secondary education institutions abroad.
It is a document showing that it is equivalent to the diplomas of secondary education institutions in Turkey. The certificate of equivalence is mandatory for enrollment in any higher education institution in Turkey. The Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Turkey has the sole discretion to issue the Certificate of Equivalence in Turkey. However, diploma equivalence procedures take a very long time due to the high density of provincial and district Directorates of National Education. Therefore, it is important for candidates to apply to the Turkish Embassy or Turkish Consulate in their country for diploma equivalence.
Q: Which institutions in Turkey accept Turkish Proficiency Certificates?
A: Turkish Proficiency Certificates of higher education institutions and organizations in Turkey accepted by the Senate of our University are accepted.
Q: I am a foreign national but I studied high school in Turkey. Do I need to submit a Turkish Proficiency Certificate to start my education?
A: No. Turkish Proficiency Certificate is not required from students who have completed their secondary education (high school) or higher education (university) in Turkey.
Q: What is the maximum duration of Turkish preparatory education?
A: Students are given 1 (one) year for Turkish preparatory education. Students who cannot reach the sufficient level at the end of this period are given 1 (one) additional year. At the end of 2 (two) years, students who cannot document that they speak Turkish at a sufficient level for the program are deregistered from our university.
Q: When can I receive my Student ID Card?
A: Provided that you submit a photograph when you register, you can receive it from the Registrar's Office approximately 1 month after your registration date.
Q: Which transactions can I perform with my Student ID Card?

Q: What is a Foreign National Citizenship Identification Number and where can I get one?
A: A student residence permit is issued to foreigners who will study for associate, bachelor's, master's or doctorate degrees at a higher education institution in Turkey. It is compulsory for foreign students to obtain a residence permit (except for those who have other legal right to stay in our country (international protection applicant/status holder, temporary protection holder, work permit holder, etc.)). Within 30 (days) from the date of entry into Turkey (if you have a visa or visa exemption for longer than 30 days, you must apply to our Student Affairs Unit for a residence permit until the end of that period). The Foreign National Citizenship Identification Number consists of 11 digits starting with 99 and is written on the “Residence Permit Certificate”.
Q: Do I need to inform your university that I have received a Residence Permit?
A: Yes. Students who have received a Residence Permit must apply to our university with their cards and report their Foreign National ID number starting with 99.
Q: I have an undergraduate degree at another university. Can I study in two undergraduate programs at the same time?
A: You cannot study in two undergraduate programs at the same time. If you wish, you can study in one undergraduate and one associate degree program at the same time.
S: I want to change the program I am enrolled in. How can I change the program?
A: It is not possible to change the program for a student enrolled within the scope of international/foreign student admission quotas. You need to apply again in the next application period. If you are entitled to enroll, you can deregister from the program you are enrolled in and enroll in the program you have chosen.
